February 2009 - New info on FAFSA under Colleges/Universities, find the link to the online application, deadlines, link to the downloadabale worksheet for FAFSA ... also check out the link to the Mississippi site for Mississippi colleges ... lots of great info there.

January 2009 - Quitman High School Library was selected to receive the 2008 Picturing America series of "high quality reproductions of notable art into our classrooms

November 2008 - Melanie Herring Kemp, Library Media Specialist at QHS, achieved National Board Teacher Certification through the National Board of Professional Teaching Standards.

April 2008 - All libraries in Quitman School District were selected to receive the 2008 We the People Bookshelf from the National Endowment for the Humanities.  This is a collection of 17 books on the "Created Equal" theme.  The American Library Association along with the National Endowment for the Humanities use this program to encourage young people to read and understand great literature while exploring themes in American history.  The following titles are included in the "Created Equal" Bookshelf and were provided to each library in Quitman School District including Quitman High School, Quitman Junior High, Quitman Upper Elementary, and Quitman Lower Elementary:
